You can use whichever feels more comfortable to you. Vital Shot is the only ability that isnt covered by the debuffs Sharpshooter provides for itself. The earpiece is the only piece of gear that you really get to pick your tertiary stats for. Illegal Mods is pretty weak for Sharpshooter in PvE. Without the Lay Low ability tree buff, Hunker Down has 30% uptime if its activated on cooldown. Right now, Sharpshooter is one of the best and most authentic specs in the game for solo content. While it used to be the case that you couldnt use most of your abilities unless you were in cover, nowadays the only abilities you have to be in cover for are Sweeping Gunfire, Pulse Detonator, and Hunker Down. Smoking BarrelsTrickshot reduces the Energy cost of your next 2 Charged Bursts by 5. Its still the Sharpshooters strongest singular hit by a huge margin, especially when Smugglers Luck is available. This is why theres always so much emphasis on the AoE RDT buffs and part of why Gunslingers should generally have very low DTPS. Gunslinger PvP Skill Build Lost Ark lets players customise characters by levelling up skills and giving them special attributes via "tripods", functioning like a talent system. (Ranged/Energy/Direct/Single-Target/Casted)This is the weakest of your rotational abilities, though since youll be using it more than twice as often as your true heavy hitters, it still accounts for a considerable amount of your total damage output. Gunslingers are renowned for their extremely high ASPD and HIT using Guns. That said, Sharpshooter still offers barely acceptable survivability thanks to the tools they didnt lose. Tripod 1. If theres a cover position in range (denoted by a little green silhouette), you quickly roll to that location and if you arent in range, you deploy your portable cover shield where you stand. I recommend the Relic of Focused Retribution for all content. In fights where youll be taking a high amount of sustained damage, its important to use your DCDs in the order that maximizes your overall uptime. While it seems pretty identical to Sorcerer / Sage Phase Walk on the surface, there are several key differences: Luckily, the ability is still off the GCD, even though it has a castbar, so you can still use it while the GCD is active for another ability. A wide variety of Gunslinger Builds for PvE and PvP. Reset Engagement also causes the final tick of Penetrating Rounds to knock back its target if they are within 10m of you. You do need to be mindful of what type of damage youre mitigating with Surrender because it changes what other defensives youre allowed to use at the same time. This gap is not present if you are taking the Relentless Shots ability tree buff. Its pretty straightforward, it increases your alacrity by more than enough to get you from the 1.4s GCD to the 1.3s GCD and lasts long enough to allow you to get an extra ability in the same amount of time, which means you can fit Penetrating Rounds alongside the additional Trickshot into the gap in your rotation. If you try to mix and match, you will find that you either run out of Energy too quickly or otherwise deal less DPS. 2 choices where youre picking between 1 ability or 1 of 2 passives. Stacks up to 2 times. Use it when you get CCd. This build makes use of the Time To Hunt Engraving, although there are Raid builds for BOTH Class Engravings. Stringing together attacks with the relatively low AP cost of pistol shots is the best way to deal maximum damage. The buff lasts 20 seconds, but only affects the very next use of a single ability, and that specific ability has a cooldown that is less than 20 seconds. If its Melee/Ranged damage, this will be the only DCD youll need because this will always mitigate all of the damage you take (provided you arent stunned). If everyones health is getting low or theres a heal check in the current phase, do not hesitate to use your Medpac if you can take full benefit of the health provided or need to be above a certain health level to survive an imminent mechanic. In a later update, likely 7.1, a vendor that sells mods will become available to players with high rating gear. The concept of this build is simple, Cannon Gun (58 dmg, 100 Impact, Confusion on hit) + shatter (1 iron scrap, no cooldown, Pain on hit), will increase your Opportunist Stab damage by x4, there is craftable dagger that deals a total of 40 dmg, 50 impact and Extreme Poison on hit, that should be around 150 to 250 damage with skills while buffed. The only difference is to always use Penetrating Rounds and its Trickshot on cooldown. This proc also helps to reinforce that Trickshot is only supposed to be used once per every 2 Charged Bursts. Despite all this, thanks to their group utility, there are still situations where Sharpshooter can be worth bringing to a raid. The Cannon Pistol's single available enchant pairs perfectly with our build, providing a small frost and mana boost. This is your CC break. Once the bosss health goes below 30%, a 4th grouping will emerge to overfill the gap in the rotation, causing your other abilities to get delayed. You will probably still see Aimed Shot get delayed slightly and this is fine. If youre switching targets temporarily, like to an add that needs to be focused down, only apply Vital Shot if youll get more than 5 ticks out of it, otherwise using Charged Burst instead will deal more damage. An AoE abilitys place in the priority is as high as it can be until it reaches a single-target ability that deals more damage than the AoE will deal to all enemies in the GCD. Here are the groupings: Using the Aimed Shot and Penetrating Rounds groupings on cooldown always take priority, and then you use the Charged Burst x2 grouping, and then youll have about a 1 GCD gap before Aimed Shot comes off cooldown. If a tank is out of defensive cooldowns and needs another its okay to use. Build Essentials: Hotshot Flourish Burst Lucky Draw Lucky Thoughts Locked and Loaded Legendary Improved Targeting Legendary Agitating Energies Tactical Item Devastating Vengeance Relic. It is essential that it is channeled on cooldown. This gives you an extra GCD on your Adrenal which can help in tight checks. Trying to use abilities before you have all the procs just means youll end up having to do more Charged Bursts later. Please be careful to not activate Smugglers Luck again until you consume the previous stack. BioWare has removed set bonuses from the game and replaced them with Legendary Items, which are just implants with old 4 or 6-piece set bonus effects on them, so rather than needing to collect 4 pieces of a gear set to get the 4-piece set bonus, or 6 pieces for the 6-piece, youll get either a 4 or 6-piece set bonus effect on an implant. Mixing all three bullet imbues with powerful dagger skills makes this build deadly at any range and able to control and disable enemies with repeated stuns and high burst damage. The only other specs that can do this are Juggernaut / Guardian DPS. Stacks up to 2 times. Advanced EvisceratingCrystals are still the best because +41 stat is a more significant upgrade for critical rating since your overall stat pool for tertiary stats is much smaller than it is for the alternative stat increases from crystals, which increase primary and secondary stats including mastery, endurance, and power. One final thing to note, you do not need bullets for this setup. Just like in 6.0, augments are largely about how much you want to spend. Another of the abilities is the movement ability with the longest cooldown. This proc is pretty straightforward, it just makes it so that Quickdraw is buffed when below 30%. Outward offers four factions to join, one of which you must join to complete the story. In addition, when you enter cover after using Hightail It, you gain Hunker Down for the first 3 seconds. Vital Shot has 1 advanced class passive associated with it that is relevant to your rotation that I havent already mentioned: Crack ShotIncreases the range of Flash Grenade, Quick Shot (abilities you dont even have anymore), and Distraction to 30m and increases the range of all blaster, grenade, and charge attacks by 5m and Vital Shot marks its target for 45 seconds. In case you needed another reason to want to use Penetrating Rounds on cooldown, it also applies the strongest of the DPS debuffs in the game, the armor debuff. Basically, you get a 50% movement speed boost after every roll. It used to be Sharpshooters most damaging ability, but thanks to the Agitating Energies tactical and Penetrating Blast ability tree choices, it has some competition when it comes to sustained DPS. Please note that the autocrit Aimed Shot wont be enough to defeat Strongs and Elites (Silvers and Golds) from full health, so you will have to rely on Penetrating Rounds, likely with Agitating Energies, or AoE to get them low enough to where you can end them with Aimed Shot if you want the cooldown to be reset. Its important to get as much damage as possible while all of your damage boosts are available to maximize their impact. Gunslingers have a slightly shorter cooldown duration on their hard stun than most other classes. Neither effect works in MM raids or PvP, so if you do either of those activities, youll need to tweak your gear to reach the desired threshold, which I find to be super tedious. The only reason I can see is that its a debuff that gets used by all 3 specs. In this video I showcase my Paladin Build featuring the unique sword called Brand. Carrying Cool Potions will let you load multiple Frost Bullets per fight, and they're cheap to mass-produce. For the rare scenario where enemies are too fast or plentiful to Imbue your pistol repeatedly, Brand can be extremely powerful when fully buffed. Make a habit of reading through all of your Ability Tree choices each time you log in. This build is for those that want to be able to use any rifle or pistol weapon. In PvE, this will generally only be used for specific mechanics since most things youd care about stunning are immune. Thanks to the Stay Low passive that makes it so you get Hunker Down for 3 seconds after using Hightail It, you always get the Heads Up speed boost after using your roll as well. If youre taking Bombing Run, you can cast it in AoE situations if at least 2 enemies will get hit by at least one tick and at least one enemy gets hit by every single tick. The best time to activate this is right before you cast the Aimed Shot before Burst Volley that will be followed by Penetrating Rounds x2 thanks to Burst Volley so your Illegal Mods rotation will look like: The accuracy increase is not applicable in PvE because bosses dont have additional defense chance like that. This needs to happen or you will deal less DPS than if you just casted one Charged Burst. Their sustained DPS is very low and their burst DPS is okay, but nothing to write home about. No level 80 mods or moddable gear will be available with the launch of 7.0. Can I finish this cast before I need to move? Please note that you can still activate non-damaging abilities in between the 2 Charged Bursts and still get the cooldown reset on Trickshot, including Diversion. Even if you mess up, keep doing the rotation! This can happen whenever you have 2 charges of Smugglers Luck, which will always be the case during your opener. Thankfully, we dont have to bother with carrying around a second set of relics anymore because all endgame content is being balanced for level 80. It still significantly reduces the effectiveness of their DCD, but not all the way. The Build Essentials are what I consider to be the core components that make the build viable. For Sharpshooter, the unique effect is that it has 2 charges. Browse through Cube, Chaos, Leveling and Raid builds to find the one that fits your unique playstyle. Diversion works wonders against adds. It doesnt really matter when you use your second charge of Smugglers Luck so long as its after your first Aimed Shot and before the next. Hunker Down also provides CC immunity. In actual raids, youll probably need to apply it more often. The highest defense chance that DPS and healer classes have is 10%, though most classes have 5% so you gear to counteract the majority and can use Illegal Mods on the others. (Ranged/Energy/Direct/AoE/Channeled)This is your spammable AoE. The Gunslinger runs on Dexterity, but you need some Wisdom for Grit Points. Choosing not to use a Medpac for financial reasons and subsequently dying is not a valid excuse. Its easily one of the strongest spammable AoE abilities in the entire game. This means your average AoE RDT is only 20% compared to most other disciplines which have 100% uptime on 30% AoE RDT. Charged Burst has 3 procs associated with it that are relevant to your rotation that I havent already mentioned: Charged AimDealing damage with Charged Burst reduces the activation time of your next Aimed Shot by 0.25 seconds. (Tech/Internal/Periodic/Single-Target/Instant)Vital Shot also helps to diversify the damage output of Sharpshooter which would otherwise be entirely direct weapon damage (besides the very occasional Bombing Run). Youre able to use it immediately after every single Penetrating Rounds, Aimed Shot, or Quickdraw, or after 2 Charged Bursts in a row. Discerning the damage type relevant to what Surrender mitigates is fairly easy; if the attack is coming directly from a lightsaber swing or blaster, its a Melee/Ranged attack and if its anything else, its probably force/tech. Unfortunately, you cant really use this rotationally, so unless theres a phase where the entire group is only AoEing, its best to hold off on using it and see if other classes rotational AoE and DoT spread can take care of it or switch to Dirty Fighting or Saboteur if you know them so that you can do rotational AoE. There are three different combat modes for three different weapons. Each use of Cool Head will allow you to use Charged Burst during 3-4 gaps instead of Flurry of Bolts, though you dont have to think about it like that, just use Cool Head when you get down to 45-50% Energy and only use Charged Burst for your gap GCD if youre above about 80% Energy. This makes Sharpshooter pretty capable in burst checks even though it does have to apply Vital Shot. In order to deal maximum damage, Sharpshooter requires 2 other DPS debuffs: Sharpshooter is extremely independent when it comes to DPS debuffs. You should practice on the dummy if youre not able to consistently execute the rotation correctly. (Tech/Elemental/Periodic/AoE/Casted)This ability is quite powerful, though its not the easiest thing to use since it takes almost 5 seconds from the start of the cast to when damage actually starts going out, and then it keeps going out for another 6 seconds. The minimum skills a player will want to have for the PVP build for their Gunslinger include the following with their respective recommended Tripods: Skill. Only a tiny portion of the other specs total damage output is considered Ranged damage. When Burst Volley is available, you will not see a gap in that cycle since youll be using Burst Volley before you would observe it. Unfortunately, the Ranged debuff is arguably the worst DPS debuff in the game because all the specs that already deal a significant amount of their damage as Ranged damage already provide it themselves. The Gunslinger is a Striker, plain and simple. Its good to have 1 emergency panic button too, but everything else should be used to prevent your health from getting low in the first place. The Relic of Serendipitous Assault is generically good, but the Relic of Devastating Vengeance is better specifically for the Burst and Versatility Build. If healers call out for players to use their Medpacs or if you find yourself having to use yours and see that the rest of the group could also probably benefit from their Medpac. Using any damaging ability is better than just standing there not doing anything. Personally, I wait to activate Burst Volley until after Ive used Trickshot. You can also just do a single GCD of the channel in your gap, though sometimes you really do need to channel it for a while. There is usually already a gap for a single extra ability every cycle, so its rather easy to insert Quickdraw into your rotation when sub-30, and above 30%, youve been using Charged Burst in this spot. Guild leaders, I personally recommend using the Fortune (yellow) guild perk set bonus instead, which grants 5% critical chance and also boosts the critical rate and time efficiency of all Crew Skills by 2%. Please note that speed boosts do not get added together, only the fastest speed boost is applied, so Reset Engagement it will take effect over Heads Up, so if you already have that effect active, be sure to wait until its over to activate Surrender. Battle rezzes in general are now healer-only, but there is no longer a global 5 min lockout on those abilities, so its treated just like any other ability, albeit with a much longer cooldown. Lucky Thoughts and Lucky Draw are often redundant since youll be resetting the cooldown of Aimed Shot and Smugglers Luck with each Aimed Shot kill, so I think going for Energy Barrels + Ballistic Redistribution makes more sense since that pair will actually increase your damage output. You can also put Burst Volley > Penetrating Rounds > Trickshot at the top of the Gap priority if that makes more sense to you. Technically its okay to use this if you genuinely think you will die if you dont knock the enemies back right now, but honestly I think the better play is to just let yourself die and then throw a tantrum about why the tanks didnt keep the adds off of you and why you didnt get enough heals, though make sure youve used your threat drop and all your DCDs already. Unless theres very significant downtime, this will only need to be built up at the start of the fight and then youll have it. If your favorite trick is "use gun on man", the Gunslinger is for you. I dont know why they decided it would make sense from a lore perspective for a Tech attack to apply a Ranged debuff. The increased alacrity makes it so you can fit the Penetrating Rounds channel and an additional Trickshot into a similarly sized window of time, even though the gap is normally only a GCD. This ability can also be used in the gap slot for some rotational AoE, though make sure at least one target gets hit by the entire thing. Since the mitigation is so short, it can be fairly difficult to time, so you may need to practice it a little bit, and dont be afraid to completely stop DPSing for a moment if theres something that will kill you if you dont do the cheese correctly. The cutoff is 9 uses of Quickdraw, which takes a little over 90 seconds, so if the boss has enough health to where youre using more than 9 Quickdraws, then you should skip using the Trickshot procced by Quickdraw and just use Quickdraw exclusively in the gap slot until there are 90 seconds left since Trickshot + a Vital Shot tick is less than the damage dealt by Aimed Shot or Penetrating Rounds. In addition, you can still teleport while stunned, so even if the button is grayed out, it will still work. Penetrating Rounds does not have any additional procs or discipline passives associated with it that are relevant to your rotation that I havent already mentioned. It is a raid buff. If you arent in cover, you will run out of Energy. This effect ends when you leave cover. In 6.0, they gave Gunslingers Phase Walk. You will lose a massive amount of DPS if you cant be in cover since your APM will be much lower because all of your casts will take much longer to complete. Agility boosts your AP, and it boosts it quickly. Each discipline has 8 choices where they pick 1 of 3 options. The true advantage of this build is its Energy efficiency, which enables you to not have to worry about using Cool Head at all as well as be able to spam Sweeping Gunfire to your hearts content, making it a great option for fights with a light amount of AoE. Its important to practice your rotation on a dummy at least until you can execute it without having to constantly look at your bar. Gunslingers are basically like snipers, so dexterity and agility are the way to go. Definitely still try to use it and be as preemptive as possible, but this ability really only works when you can predict when and where AoE will be needed well in advance, so this ability is better suited to fights with constant adds. The earlier you activate it, the earlier youll be able to activate it again. Since this build uses Relentless Shots, the gap in your rotation is completely eliminated. Dex: Dexterity is everything to the Gunslinger. Thanks to the Agitating Energies tactical, this ability accounts for a gigantic proportion of your total damage output. This is important because Charged Burst is far too expensive to use as often as we want to use it without this passive. To be clear, Operative / Scoundrel DPS is by no means required and is not the only Combat Style that provides the DPS debuffs used by Sharpshooter, they are just the most efficient and allow greater flexibility in terms of what the other group members can bring. Youre able to do this because the ability is only usable within 5 seconds after using each of those abilities. This inconsistent behavior can cause problems in raiding, which is why you should just remove the Take Cover ability from your bar entirely. Trickshot has 2 procs that are relevant to your rotation: Recoil ControlFiring Charged Burst twice in a row, firing Quickdraw or Aimed Shot once, or completing a Penetrating Rounds channel now finishes the cooldown on Trickshot. Refraction Point also has a very nice bonus, since it causes Penetrating Rounds to deal damage to multiple enemies and Penetrating Rounds applies the armor debuff, this tactical allows you to provide the armor debuff to multiple enemies at the same time, which is super rare. The increased duration of Hunker Down results in slightly higher uptime, but the animation still ends after 20 seconds even though the buff sticks around for the correct duration. Most of the benefit can be had for pretty cheap, but if you need that extra performance boost and are willing to fork over the credits, you do have access to more powerful gear.
